At Theatre Whakatane our aim is to encourage and foster a passion for theatre and the performing arts within our local community. Whether on the stage or off - being involved in theatre productions can be a really enjoyable and rewarding experience.

Not just for performers...
As well as the director, choreographer, stage performers and musos, 'behind the scenes' of every production you'll find a dedicated crew of people using their skills and talents in various ways...
Admin teams, sound and lighting technicians, front of house staff and backstage crews are brought together for each show. Other skills such as design, sewing, hair dressing, make up artistry, set building and painting are also regularly required.
Whatever area of theatre you are interested in, and whether you are a seasoned pro, or have never set foot in a theatre before – we'd love to hear from you.

As well as becoming part of a fantastic social group, single and family members are entitled to a 15% discount on a booking of up to 10 seats at two shows per year (at performances designated by the committee), along with a regular newsletter and a vote at the Annual General Meeting (note - corporate members are entitled to the 15% discount for up to 50 seats).
