A comedy for 2 men and 2 women

A warm hearted comedy about Betty who, having just discovered her husband is having an affair, will do anything to save her marriage even if it means dipping into fantasy and enlisting the help of a secret agent. By the end of the play she has developed self esteem and strength and realises that she doesn't need her marriage in order to be happy.  

A tale of a disillusioned housewife’s discovery that her husband of 20 years is unfaithful—what to do?—the answer—create a fantasy lover. A lover that calls her on the phone, sends her flowers. Make him jealous. That should do the trick.

This play won the 2010 Playwrights Assn. of N.Z. one act play competition. It’s funny, it’s witty.

Betty Robertson - Middle aged, average married working woman

Jeffrey Robertson - Middle aged businessman having a mid-life crisis

Penelope/Svetlana - Jeffrey’s mistress, a smart business woman/Russian spy Bond girl

James - James Bond, a female fantasy

Frank’s wife wants him to have a vasectomy. His life won’t be worth living unless he gets the snip. What would a real man do? What would The Godfather do? Badda bing, badda boom, this sharp comedy will have you in stitches!

Snip is a tale about Frank and Jenny, a married couple, with a difference of opinion about sex. Frank is desperate for some, but Jenny has had enough of carrying the responsibility for contraception. The solution, to Jenny, at least, is obvious: it's time Frank got.... The Snip! Frank is somewhat less keen, and needs some persuasion, from no less a figure than the godfather. Will Frank do the honourable thing?

Frank - Married tax consultant 30 to 45 years of age

Jenny - Frank’s tired wife & mother of 3 children including a newborn

Don - Don Corleone from “The Godfather” (Frank’s fantasy character)

Sam - Middle aged female doctor

Audition Pieces
